The battery wouldn't charge at first and we sent the intial one back for replacement. The new one wouldn't charge either. This seems to be a common problem for this item, but we tried watching a movie with the player plugged in and it worked fine. We then discovered that the player would then charge. We haven't had any problem getting it to charge since. With this problem resolved the player has been great! Very light weight and easy to use. My son loves it...makes car trips much less boring.
