Have tried 2 and can't get the battery to charge

06 Jan, 00:00
I am on my second Audiovox D1420 (returned the first). Neither would take a charge. Opened the first one on Christmas morning and I was a excited to try it out - popped in a DVD and before giving a full charge (used the power cord) so I thought maybe that caused the dead battery problem, but when I got the second one I plugged it in right out of the box and was sad to see that the "charge" light went off within 1/2 hour. I left it to charge overnight anyway (and I used a different outlet in a different house than the first). Next morning I put in a DVD - sadly, the thing crapped out after about 3 minutes.

This is a big disappointment for my daughter as it was a gift from Santa and she really loves it. Works great while plugged in but that sort of defeats the purpose of having a portable unit so I am afraid we are going to have to find a different brand/model. I love the screen on the outside so the lid is closed when viewing but because of the battery I'm sorry to say I can't recommend this.

Also I tried to call Audivox for help but I could never get a live person on the phone. I got frustrated and just asked Amazon for a replacement but now I have the same problem. Battery is not replaceable either... Very disappointed.
