I ordered this, like others, with trepidation, but figured if I got one that worked, it would be fine.
Mine worked, but it only played disks in B&W. I called Audiovox, which wasn't actually that hard to reach. But, the tech support person said that the menu function on the machine wasn't working, so I should just return it. (Thanks, that's just what I care to do, five days before Christmas.) Since it is shipped from J&R Electronics, I tried to call them to send it back. The information says you need an authorized return number from their Customer Service Desk before they'll accept the return, or refund you for it.
After 45 minutes of hold, busy signals, and dropped calls, I still haven't gotten a return number. But, given the date and the time, I'll be buying a portable DVD player at a big box retailer where I can get someone to take it back if it doesn't work.
Amazon.com shouldn't partner with someone like J&R if they cannot support the items they sell, and if their customer service department is so crummy.
AN IMPORTANT UPDATE: Within two hours of my contacting Amazon, they had completely SOLVED this problem, standing by their A-to-Z guarantee and making everything right. THANK YOU, AMAZON!!!!!!!
