For $168 from Sam's with the included game controller and 30 games, it's quite a deal. But as usual, you get what you pay for. I'm not sure why the one reviewer said the built-in speakers were adequate; they are not. We own a '99 Honda Odyssey, a pretty quiet car. We took our first trip with it yesterday (day after getting it as a Christmas present), and the road noise from the new (and quiet) highway was enough to drown out the speakers on maximum volume.
Since it is a portable DVD, meant to be used on the road, it is nearly a complete failure in my book. Also, I didn't know that LCD's could even be made with that low a resolution.
It's going back to Sam's.
