Looks like a great buy

30 Jan, 00:00
I have researched several DVD players and thanks to Amazon's cutomer reviews I have made up my mind I will buy this Philips product.I live in Australia but spend 6 months each year here in the US so will be buying the player in the US. I sent an email to Philips in Australia to enquire about being able to play this unit when I get back home. Their reply was very prompt and very helpful. I will include their response email as there was a comment made in one of the reviews that this unit cannot be played in a country that has a 240V currency. It doesn't appear to be a big problem.

" This unit will work in Australia, provided you purchae the Australian AC adaptor.
These are available from our spare parts on 1300 652 513

However, I have looked at the Australian adaptor and it will support a voltage of 100v-240v.
If this is the case with your adaptor, it will work fine here, and all you will need is a socket adaptor.

You will also need to multizone the machine to watch Australian DVD's.

Model: PET700, PET710

1. Open DVD lid.
2. Press "SETUP" which will enter the Setup Menu, then arrow down to to "Preferences Page";
3. Press OK
4. Press 2, 5, 2, 3, 1, 5, LEFT ARROW, DOWN ARROW, on the remote control.
5. Then the LCD will display” REGION CODE 4";
6. Input your preferred region by pressing 0-6 on your remote. If you enter 0 (zero), this will multizone the machine.

Kind Regards,

Glen
