disc error

I have 2 diffrent dvd players that when a disc is placed in the player is not able to read the disc. I know the disc is fine because I placed it in another dvd player and it works fine .. I also placed the dvd in a working zenith portable dvd player and it works fine .. I compared the setting on the good player to the 2 bad units and all setting match. I am still not able to play dvd or audio disc in either of the 2 bad units. I called lg ( zenith ) and was advised that problem may be with the eye. Has anyone else have this problem. I bot a different model of zenith (7" and swivel screen). It does not read discs from other regions. You guys need to reset the firmware thru http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks.php?select=Zenith+DVP615
